Philips kündigt HomeKit-kompatibilität für Hue an

Philips hat heute im Rahmen der Apple WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) im Moscone Center in San Francisco angekündigt, dass alle Hue-Komponenten demnächst HomeKit-fähig werden. Damit steigt ein weiterer grosser Hersteller auf den HomeKit-Zug auf.

Das Statement von Philips kam nicht über eine offizielle Pressemeldung sondern über Facebook:

Hue Fans, we have exciting news! Philips Hue meets Apple HomeKit.

Starting this fall we will take your lighting experience to the next level and unlock new features for your existing Hue lights. Stay tuned to learn how we will support you with any necessary upgrade to your system. More details will follow from September 2015 onwards

Ob auch bestehende Geräte kompatibel sind hat Philips in einem Kommentar auf die eigene Ankündigung beantwortet:

Yes, the solution we are working on will work with all your existing and new Hue lights. To get details about how your existing Philips Hue products will work with HomeKit, please follow us on Twitter or Facebook get the latest details leading up to our launch in Fall 2015.
